Microsoft does not charge users for HealthVault accounts and records.
As an online service, connect-time charges from your Internet access provider might apply.
Apps and devices that connect with HealthVault are provided by third parties. Many are free to users, but some have charges. You are not required to have any third party applications to have a HealthVault account. Please read their terms to decide which apps and devices are right for you.
One person holds a HealthVault account, and records for many people can exist within that account. (See What’s the difference between an account and a record?)
If you are managing health information for others, we recommend that you set up an account in your own name, then add records for the additional people whose information you’d like to work with.
HealthVault is most useful when each person is represented by only one record, so that all of the health information created and gathered for them goes to the same place.
If multiple people want to be able to access and work with a particular person’s record, everyone using HealthVault needs to have a separate HealthVault account, and each account should share one record for the person. For instance, if two adult siblings are both managing a parent’s health, have one sibling create a record for the parent and then share it with the other sibling.
You can change your sign in or add more ways to sign in to HealthVault. If you sign in using credentials from an account you might close in the future, it's a good idea to add another way to sign in, to make sure you can access your HealthVault account.
To add another way to sign in:
Once you’ve signed in, the new ID will be added to your Account ID list and you can use it to sign in to your HealthVault account.
When you have more than one way to sign in to HealthVault, you can delete a sign-in if you want to.
To change your contact email address:
You can also set alternate contact information.
To delete your account:
You might have given us a different email address to use for communicating with you. If you’re unable to sign in, this might be the case. Try using a different account credential.
Also, remember that you can sometimes use your email address as your user name for a Microsoft account; make sure you use the password for the account, which may not be the same password you use to get your email.
HealthVault has a mobile website and several mobile apps that help you access your information on the go.
You'll find mobile and tablet apps in the App Directory.
Note: Apps are provided by their manufacturers, and availability varies based on location and other factors.
